Illuminating indeed. Thank you.

And it forces me to get back some skipped articles (reviews of the book "Race") to read.

http://www.skeptic.com/eskeptic/eskeptic05-03-22.html

and

http://www.skeptic.com/eskeptic02-18-05.html

Just as you mentioned endogamy, I am wondering why those using endogamy as rationale for the concept "race" wouldn't think the difference between "races" are superficial. My understanding of endogammy is closely related to sex selection, which is the most plausible explanation of "races" to me--mostly because it explains why differences are developed in such a short time-span. However, sex selection is claiming that people just "look" different.

However, though Charles Darwin created it and Richard Dawkins endorses it, they are old indeed. Any new research back this thoery of sex selection?

My primary interest is not whether race originates from sex selection or natural selection. However, I think the natural selection plays a larger roles than sex selection does. For example, the most important factor to distinguish races is skin color. The sex selection prefers women with light color in most tribes, but it is the sun light that determines the dominance of dark skin color.
