More than 60% Americans are overweight or obese. A big body is burdensome and not beautiful.
So a lot of people are obsessed in losing weight but most of them fail to achieve any success. They switch from the Atkins diet to the South Beach diet, from aerobic exercise to strength training, and from nowhere to nowhere. Even worse, the majority of them gain weight after the end of weight-loss program. People become frustrated about their weight, their confidence, and their ability. They feel ashamed about their bodies, and some unlucky ones get depressed.
But most people don’t realize that a healthy body does not mean a lean body. Health requires a strong and vigorous body, not a feeble one. In fact, the risk of dying is greater among those who lose the weight than those who maintain the weight.
The aim of our lives is to live in accordance with the mother nature. My major point in health, obesity, nutrition, and physical activity can be illustrated by my slogan: Big & Healthy!
Being big is a God’s blessing. The only problem is that we want to be bigger, but not fatter. Losing fat is everything!
So my strategy to lose fat is:
1) restrict caloric intake, increase vegetables and fruit based on scientific evidence.
2) regular exercise, increase muscle, decrease fat. Don’t mind weight change.
3) record your life: diet, exercise and other things because record is probably the most effective way to change one’s behavior.
The goal is to maintain a stable life and to decrease blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood glucose.
It may seem so obvious but when you open those popular dieting books and exercise books, those authors don’t know all these basic concepts. Millions of uninformed people are misguided by them.
So I have a small business plan. I want to create a community in which members can record their daily diet and exercise, get educated from modern and real science, and support themselves mutually in the community. They should pay a small amount of membership fee.
All I need to do is to create the website and write some nice programs. It sounds feasible and profitable.
Today some friends pointed a couple websites to me. To my dismay, they are doing exactly the same thing as I am planning to do. Some websites look more beautiful than I can design. This is terrible.
Nevertheless, I got over it. I may still do this project because this is something I know I can do. Even if it won’t make any money (if I make it free to anyone), it is my idea. The existing websites testify that I can have some good ideas.
What a day!
